The Gadget | New Sony Tablet P - Sony launches Tablet P with latest Android | Tuesday (8/30), Sony was launching an interesting small form factor dual-screen tablet, the Sony Tablet P. We published about the device back in July when it was still code-named ”S2”.

The Tablet P features two 5.5” high quality TruBlack capacitive touch screen displays with vibrant colors and high contrasts. The compact size and the elegant clamshell form factor allows users to easily carry it in their (large) pockets. The P gets the latest version of Android – that is, 3.2 Honeycomb.

On the hardware side , the P offers a 5 megapixel rear camera, a VGA front camera, 4GB of internal memory, a full size SD card slot (for media exchange only), a micro USB connector, a 3080 mH Li-Ion battery and WiFi b/g/n.

On the software side, the tablet P gets Sony Services, a free 6 months basic membership to Music Unlimited, free movie downloads from Video Unlimited, access to Reader Store for book purchase or free download.

A nice use of the two screens has been implemented in the photo gallery: if a photo is geotagged, you will see the picture on the top screen and a map with the location will be displayed on the second screen.

Like the Sony Tablet S, the Sony Tablet P is Playstation certified and comes with iconic title Crash bandicoot preloaded. Additionally, the device supports DLNA, it can stream content to DLNA-compatible TV, PC or speakers. Sony showed me a demo of the capability on the Tablet S, check it here.

No pricing has been announced, the device will be sold through AT&T later this year. We have to wait for some time to find the price and reviews of Sony Tablet P.
